Loveland High Plains Environmental Center

Project Location: Loveland, CO

Project Description:

The High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC) in Loveland, Colorado is a unique urban park that is dedicated to promoting environmental education and preservation. Spread across 76 acres of land, the center features 3 miles of trails that wind through a beautiful natural landscape dotted with two pristine lakes covering an additional 200 acres. The trails are open to the public 365 days a year, from sunrise to sunset, providing visitors with ample opportunity to explore the park's diverse ecosystems and wildlife.

The center's primary mission is to educate visitors about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability. With a focus on hands-on learning experiences, HPEC offers a variety of educational programs and workshops for both adults and children. These programs aim to engage visitors with the natural world and inspire them to become stewards of the environment.

In addition to its educational mission, HPEC also serves as an important wildlife refuge, providing habitat for a wide range of species. The center's trails offer visitors the opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat, from songbirds and waterfowl to mammals such as beaver, muskrat, and deer.

HPEC is a prime example of a well-planned and executed urban park that combines education, conservation, and recreation in one harmonious setting. Whether you're a nature lover, an environmental enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful place to spend time outdoors, HPEC is a destination worth visiting.
